Nest Box Webcams

The CCBC sponsors three nest box webcams in the Keweenaw. One that has been regularly used by Great Horned Owls (Bubo virginianus) that is located on the Skyline Center in Hancock, MI. One on the MTU-Electrical Energy Resources Center in Houghton, MI  The other two nest boxes (one on the MTU-Electrical Energy Resource Center in Houghton, MI and one on the Quincy Shaft House in Quincy, MI) were put in place with the intention of helping a pair Peregrine Falcons (Falco peregrinus) that were using a nest box previously located on the Portage Lift Bridge. (Those birds chose to nest among the structure of the bridge, instead)

This nest box located on the Skyline Center in Hancock, MI has supported Great Horned Owls for many years.
